SOLDIER’S STORY | Joseph James | Official Lyric Video Tribute

TRUE STORY! I met a precious couple out in Colorado Springs when I was driving for Lyft a few years back. We became great friends and he is a Naval Intelligence Officer Veteran. One night they called me over to their hotel room where I stayed for several hours trying to keep him from going the way of suicide. It was scary! I was praying everything I knew to pray and doing some deliverance, too! I'm glad I had the Lord on my side and He intervened. I couldn't have done it without His help! We are still very close and his life has changed!

The next morning, as I was waking up in and out of sleep, the Lord told me to write this song. I spent a lot of time on it just trying to get it right. There was an Air Force veteran staying at the same hotel and I asked her to go over the words with me to make sure everything was good. She did and I'm grateful. My buddy, Will Adkins, lead singer of his own rock band from Dallas back in the 80's, joined in with me with his backup vocals and echoes. I was in the Air Force myself in 1980 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

It is my hope to one day film this as a music video, perhaps even on an aircraft carrier with some soldiers and vets. I want it to be the best it can be. Perhaps, I can get a band together to rework the instrumentals I created. I did my best with what I had. I was privileged to film the Stealth Bomber while we were in COS and included it in the video. I gave a lot of rides at the Air Force Academy and Fort Carson while we were there. The soldiers also confirmed that I was on the right track with the song. They were losing their buddies left and right. I got to talk to quite a few of them and pray.

It is my hope that this song encourages people and brings help and healing to those who need it, just like I was able that night with my friend. I hope that the videos I have included honor and encourage all those who serve and have served.

Your lives are important and God has a good plan for your life no matter what you're doing now. Stay the course! Cross the Finish Line He has for you! We are all Warriors on this Battlefield called Life! ...and we need each other to help and be helped!

I don't know, maybe by some miracle, Pete Hegseth or President Trump can help me with this project or someone else. In the meantime, I hope it's good enough to help many. Your life matters! We don't know what good things our futures hold! Why give up before we see the fullness of it?
