Bodycam: Officer Shoots Squatter In The Face. Houston Police Deparment Feb. 1, 2025

Houston, Texas ---- Police said, on Saturday February 1, 2025 at about 1 p.m. Houston Police Deprtment patrol officers were dispatched to a call of a suspicious person with a weapon at an apartment complex at 8360 Park Place Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers were notified by the property manager that two individuals were observed entering a vacant apartment.

When officers entered the apartment, one suspect pointed a weapon at them. Officers retreated away from the door and gave the suspects verbal commands to surrender. The suspects ignored all commands.

The teens broke through a back window and got out of the apartment and started shooting at police.
The officers returned fire, striking one suspect in the face. The male suspect, later identified as Alexis Otoniel Martinez, 17, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital-Texas Medical Center. He is charged with aggravated assault against a public servant. The 15 years old juvenile female suspect was also transported for minor injuries.

The juvenile female suspect has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on aggravated assault against a public servant charges. Juvenile suspect identities and booking photos are not releasable police said.

Senior Police Officer R. Benavides is a 30 years veteran and Senior Police Officer F. Jaimes is a 10 years veteran.
