Disney Magic in PortMiami

I used Google Earth to go explore around the cruise ships at the Port of Miami. We begin in South Beach, its iconic sands and waters lining Ocean Drive’s Art Deco hotels. Then across Biscayne Bay, by the MacArthur Causeway leading to Port Miami, where cruise ships tower over the docks.

The Disney Magic stands out with its navy-blue hull, golden trim, and twin red funnels. At 984 feet long, it carries 2,713 passengers and 950 crew members. Built in 1998 by Fincantieri in Italy, it was Disney’s first cruise ship. It runs on five diesel engines and uses ABB Azipods for smooth sailing, reaching speeds of 23.5 knots.

Onboard, there are 11 decks, three themed restaurants, a Broadway-style theater, and the AquaDunk waterslide, added in 2013. The ship blends classic ocean liner elegance with modern Disney magic.

As it prepares to sail, the Miami skyline rises behind it—glass towers, museums, and the Kaseya Center reflecting the sunlight.
