Israeli Court Sentences Palestinian Child For 18 Years In Prison

An Israeli court has sentenced 15-year-old Palestinian boy Mohammed Basel Zalbani to 18 years in prison and fined him 300,000 shekels ($83,000).

Arrested in February 2023, Zalbani was accused of resisting occupation.

His family’s home was also demolished. With over 1,100 Palestinian children imprisoned and increasing violence in the West Bank, human rights groups are calling for urgent international intervention.
