Donald Trump's LATEST THREATS Against Gaza Are His MOST UNHINGED Yet

In a statement addressed “to the People of Gaza,” Donald Trump warned that “A beautiful Future awaits, but not if you hold Hostages. If you do, you are DEAD!”

Again, this was explicitly addressed to the entirety of Gaza’s population, not only to Hamas. U.S. presidents kill civilians all the time, but it’s highly unusual for them to explicitly threaten a civilian population with extermination in a statement addressed directly to them; you have to go back to the leaflets President Truman dropped on Japan warning of nuclear annihilation in 1945 to find anything like this.

At the same time, Israel is reportedly preparing a “hell plan” in which it will resume its genocidal onslaught and cut Gaza off from electricity and water if Hamas refuses to accept Israel’s revised terms for the ceasefire deal in the coming days. The plan to cut off water is especially terrifying, as it would lead to mass civilian deaths relatively quickly.

Donald Trump's press conference with indicted criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, no possible good was going to come out of it. Netanyahu is as bad for Israel as Trump is for the United States, and they both thrive on chaos.

Sure enough, Trump used the event to announce that he wants to forcibly remove all Palestinians from Gaza. Where are they supposed to go? Trump of course didn’t have an answer for that. This would be forced relocation at best and ethnic cleansing at worst. Trump also said that he’s open to sending the U.S. military to take over Gaza.

As Senator Chris Murphy said, this isn’t a realistic proposal and it’s unlikely to happen. But it is a dangerously insane enough proposal that we do have to stop and push back against it – which leaves less bandwidth for pushing back against everything else Trump is doing. Which of course is the whole idea. But we have to keep pushing back on all fronts no matter what, and we will.
