Costa Rica's "Cave of Death" or "Cueva de la Muerte" near the Poas Volcano is lethal due to its high carbon dioxide levels.

Emitting 30kg of carbon dioxide per hour. It's strictly off-limits and marked with a warning sign.

The cave is small at two meters deep and three meters long and upon its discovery, a worker fell ill near the entrance, indicating its lethal nature even from afar.

Additionally, animals have perished almost instantly upon entering the cave.
