India beat New Zealand by 4 wickets in the final of CT-25 and won for the 3rd time.

The Final Match of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was played between India and New Zealand at Dubai international Cricket Stadium Dubai on 9th March, 2025. In this match India defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets. In this match New Zealand Captain Mitchell Santner won the toss and opted to bat first.

New Zealand while batting first scored 251 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs and gave target of 252 runs to India to win. In reply India scored 256 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 49 overs and won the match by 4 wickets.

New Zealand while batting first started well and lost the first wicket of Will Young at the score of 57 runs in 7.5 overs. Will Young was LBW to Varun Chakaravarty and scored 15 runs from 23 balls hitting 2 fours.

Then Kuldeep Yadav removed the wickets of in form Rachin Ravidra and Kane Williamson and put New Zealand on back foot. He first bowled Rachin Ravindra at the score of 69 runs. Rachin made 37 runs in 29 balls hitting 4 fours and one six.

Kane Williamson was out caught and bold by Kuldeep Yadav after scoring 11 runs. Tom Latham was LBW to Ravindra Jadeja after scoring 14 runs from 30 balls. Varun Ckakaravarthy then bold Michael Bracewell who made 34 from 52 balls hitting 2 fours and one six.

Mohd Shami removed the dangerous looking Daryl Mitchell caught by Rohit Sharma after scoring the top score of 63 runs from 101 balls hitting only 3 fours.

Mitchel Santner was run out from the throw from Virat Kohli To KL Rahul and scored 8 runs from 10 balls. Glenn Phillips played a gem of innings and remained not out on 53 runs from 40 balls hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. Nathan Smith remained not out without scoring.

Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarty bowled superbly and took 2 wickets each. One wicket each went to Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja. Mitchel Santner was run out. New Zealand scored 251 runs for 7 wickets in 50 overs.

India while Chasing target of 252 runs to win batted superbly and openers added 105 runs for the first wicket in 18.4 overs. Shubman Gill was first to go caught by flying Glenn Phillips of the bowling of Mitchel Santner after scoring 31 runs from 50 balls hitting 1 six. Virat kohli went early LBW to Michael Bracewell and scored only one run.

Rohit Sharma played match winning innings of 76 runs from 83 balls hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes. Rohit was stumped by Tom Latham of the bowling of Rachin Ravindra.

Then Shreyas Iyer with Axar Patel added 61 runs for the 4th wicket and ensured India’s victory. Shreyas Iyer was caught by Rachin Ravindra of the bowling of Mitchel Santner after contributing special knock of 48 runs from 62 balls hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes.

Axar Patel contributed 29 runs from 40 balls which include 1 four and 1 six. Hardik Pandya was caught and bold by Kayle Jamieson after playing quickfire innings of 18 runs from 18 balls hitting 1 four and 1 six.

KL Rahul remained not out on 34 runs from 33 balls hitting 1 four and 1 six. Ravindra Jadeja scored the winning runs and remained not out on 9 runs from 6 balls hitting 1 four.

India scored 254 runs for 6 wickets and won the match and Champions Trophy 2025 for the record third time. Rohit Sharma was given Player of the Match Award and Rachin Ravindra was given Player of the Series Award.
