The trade war launched by U.S. President Donald Trump has many Canadians cancelling American travel plans and opting to shop local instead of crossing the border.

Actions like these affect American cities like Grand Forks, N.D., which depends on Canadian trade.

“We do put a lot of effort into it. We enjoy the friendship with Manitoba,” says Greater Grand Forks executive director Julie Rygg.
