Intro To Galatians 1:1-5

The churches in the region of Galatia had received the gospel of Jesus Christ as Paul traveled through the region during his first missionary journey. Not long after, Judaizers came and began spreading a false gospel. Although they did not deny Jesus, they were teaching that in order to be saved, you had to also keep the Law of Moses. Paul's gospel proclaimed salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus alone. No one could keep the Law, which is why Jesus came to fulfill it. He did what we could never do. Paul had a sobering warning to anyone who would proclaim a gospel that was different from the one he had received directly from Jesus Christ. "Let them be accursed." This begins our study of this important epistle of the apostle Paul.
