What came first-- the Chicken or the EGG?!

Is the precursor that vaporizes and condenses to make pockets of material the egg or the chicken?

If I had to choose-- the Egg came first:
Non-living to Living

Molecules combine to form a shell or egg-like capsule separating environments for other molecules to react-- ultimately, allowing for complex processes to occur and Life to eventually develop!?

Separate environments = Ion Gradients = moving charges = Bioelectricity!?
