State Farm in the spotlight. A hidden camera video exposed Vice President Haden Kirkpatrick belittling wildfire victims in Los Angeles for building in a “damn desert,” claiming, “People want to build where they can have nature around them for their ego.”
He admitted that wildfires in these areas are no surprise to insurance professionals. Kirkpatrick also stated that he seeks a workforce based on 2040 demographics, prioritizing Hispanics while excluding white applicants. He concluded by revealing that State Farm’s exit from California was a calculated financial decision.
