Deception Of New Age Is A New Cage Unveiling Spiritual Falsehood And Hidden Darkness Today

This is my first visit to this channel. It took me less than a minute to realize this is definitely a place I can learn and grow more into myself while simultaneously sharing my abundance of energy with others that won’t reject it. Of course words are bankrupt of the full meaning of what I just typed. I know you understand what I mean though. Thank you for this clarifying video. I’m sending light and love to all of you as a mystic, one of the most common questions that I get asked are my thoughts and opinions of the New Age. Is the new age demonic? Is the new age a deception? So today, I'm going to be clarifying exactly what the new age is. There is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5).

The fourth unifying factor of the New Age Movement is a cosmic evolutionary optimism. There is a New Age coming. There will be a new world order with a one-world government. New Agers believe in a progressive unification of world consciousness eventually reaching the 'omega point.' This is a counterfeit kingdom and we know who its prince is.

Fifth, New Agers create their own reality. They believe they can determine reality by what they believe, so by changing what they believe, they can change reality. There are no moral absolutes because there is no distinction between good and evil.

Sixth, New Agers make contact with the kingdom of darkness. Calling a medium a 'channeler' and a demon a 'spirit guide' has not changed the reality of what they are. They are in contact with the god of this world instead of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Recently I received a call from a lady who was concerned about the turn of events in a small group she was attending. It had started out as a group of supposedly Christian women. The one woman began to function as a medium, and they thought they were hearing from God. They recorded six hours of videotape, and in that six hours, five different personalities can be identified in the medium. The group was convinced they were hearing from God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and two angels. The lady functioning as a medium was later identified as not being a Christian. In the tape her eyes roll back in a trancelike state. At one point a voice says through her, "It's going to snow here tomorrow." I'm surprised that when it didn't snow the next day, they couldn't see the snow job being done on them! How can a thinking person, professing to be a Christian, consider this as anything other than demonization? But it isn't just lonely homemakers who are being deceived. This deception is invading every area of society today.

Father, keep me alert to the deception of New Age thinking around me, and help me dismiss the darkness I encounter with the light of Your truth.

This has been so huge in my psyche right now. Holy crap... right on time. The alien starseed thingy, placing more hierarchy to certain species and just vibrating so high and that's all that is needed... it's like the light side of the Dimiurge coin... as long as you are controlled sorta thing. I do find myself swinging back and forth from one extreme to the other as you said, scrambling to find center continually. I am truly coming together within little by little, but it is a process.... I want to take action but gut telling me no its not time. Not time at all. Growth is necessary. Everything was hijacked, including the Bible. I'm old enough to talk about the beginning of New Age since I grew up with it in the late 60s/early 70s. I knew as a child that parts of religion weren't right. New Age was an alternative to religion and started out being more self-help in it's inception because people needed to de-program from religion, building up their self-esteem and heal. It later evolved into more spiritual beliefs as humans evolved with it, going within with it instead of worshipping someone outside of yourself...so yes, that had to be hijacked as well. We also knew the Age of Aquarius was coming and the old was going away or being destroyed. And agree, have to lose ego/mind on everything which is the main culprit of hijacking on this earth and helping to create this mess we're in. Same with tarot cards and all of that, programing as evil which is total BS since the occult is not evil, it is good and bad like everything with intention.

Dismantling The New Age Deception
Before sin, torment or suffering ever entered the world, deception did. The New Age is a very strong deception. I want to dismantle its main beliefs so you can know how to help those who are still stuck in it.

SEVEN CORE BELIEFS OF NEW AGE
#1 Reincarnation, the belief that we live infinite lifetimes over and over until you learn or grow enough to break out of the cycle of reincarnation. But the Bible makes it clear that it is appointed once for man to die and then judgment (Hebrews 9:27). It gives a false sense of second chance that removes the need for repentance because if you fail in this lifetime, you can make up for it in the next.

#2 You can become God. This was the same deception the snake presented to man in Genesis 3:5. The New Age’s goal is for us to literally remember that we are actually God. They teach we can go through a spiritual evolution to transcend now and revert to the point of our being before the big bang and live in the state of consciousness that we are God. Genesis 2:7 clearly states how man was created by God.

#3 Humans are perfectly divine. New Age teaches that humans are divinely perfect but we have forgotten our divinity. It, therefore, rejects any notion of sin, repentance, guilt, shame, and therefore, the need for a Savior, Jesus Christ. This gives rise to their doctrine the law of attraction which says what you have in your mind is what you attract to your life. Happiness is worshipped instead of truth. Contrary to this, Apostle Paul taught that godly sorrow brings repentance which leads to salvation and no regrets.

#4 Jesus Christ was just an enlightened man. New Age does not teach that Jesus was the only begotten Son of God. Therefore, you have to spend your life in this works-based salvation to try and break out of the cycle of reincarnation. The Gospel is faith-based – we are saved by grace, through faith not by works so that no man should boast (Colossians 1:15-17).

#5 Love, life, and light consciousness. Love, life, and light are portrayed as mere states of consciousness you can attain as you deal with the negative emotions. However, there is only one man who has ever been completely righteous and that is Jesus Christ.

#6 The Creator is an unknowable force. New Age states we are too small to be able to relate with the Creator of the Universe. And that it has to be tapped into as an energy source. This belief seeks to eliminate the personal nature of God altogether.

#7 Universalism. Finally, New Age teaches that all religions are the same in that they all point to the divine and Jesus isn’t the only way but we can all find our own way to get to the divine. They have been deceived. And they feel they are doing good and in no danger of damnation.

We have been born in an age of confrontations. Our age reminds us of the earlier ages, yet it has its own unique identity, since history does not repeat itself. A characteristic of our times is the incredible and rapid diffusion of evil, which manifests itself in ever-changing forms. Those who are able to see are grieved by this, witnessing the operation of the mystery of iniquity (2 Thes. 2:7) in a world which is as beautiful as a jewel.

It has been many years since the times of relative innocence, where a wolf was lurking to attack the sheep as soon as they were alone. Nowadays, the wolf has been disguised into the shepherd who pre­tends to be protecting the sheep. He has put on the façade of the government, the president, the world organization, and is taking advantage of the concentrated power in his hands. The supposedly pow­erful figures, who are on the spotlight worldwide, present themselves as sensitive saviours and con­scientious workers of the public well-being, while in fact they are no more than a well-decorated store window, who serve the purposes of a world elite. The latter does not consist of “rich fools” – capitallists who are keen on showing off their wealth – but those who are financially powerful and take good care to remain anonymous.

This small group which exerts power from the backstage is colored by metaphysical principles which are derived from occultism and Gnosticism. This is what the philosophy of the new world order is based on. The spirit of the “new age” uses the zo­diacal division of history. It talks about the chrono­logical end of the age of Pisces and the beginning of the age of Aquarius. The Pisces is a symbol of Christ, therefore according to them the coming of the new age will signify the end of Christianity as well. The words of Christ, more specifically that He will be with us until the end of the aeon, are de­liberately misinterpreted, since they translate the word “aeon” as a historical period that will even­tually come to an end. Of course, this is not true, because with the term “aeon” Christ means the historical period until the Second Coming (Matt. 28:20). According to the followers of the new age movement, just as in the age of Pisces the dominant figure of Christ played a catalytic role in the course of mankind, accordingly in the age of Aquarius a world leader is expected, who will magically initi­ate people worldwide to a more advanced level of consciousness. Christ is degraded to an initiator, amongst many others, and the content of the Scrip­tures is considered to withhold the spiritual matu­ration of man. Consequently, from now on, people should be looking forward to the new Messiah, whose task will be to guide mankind towards an age of peace, equality and supreme enlightenment.

The views of the aforementioned occultists stem from a basic distortion of the Old Testament. In the garden of Eden, the snake is taken not as a cunning figure that through deception persuaded man to distance himself from God and caused the fall, but as a Promethean figure, in other words a benefactor of mankind, because allegedly he is the one who enriched the human soul with the spirit. The words of the devil, as the sole bringer of light (Lucifer), are accepted without a doubt, because according to them the devil made humans capable of distin­guishing between good and evil, and stand in front of God as equals. Detached from God, man has acquired self-knowledge and self-consciousness as a separate entity with our own freedom of will. Within the rational faculty of man a divine seed is found, and by cultivating it he himself can become God.

At the core of the philosophy of the new age movement one finds the aforementioned Gospel of the Snake which is saturated with hatred against God and His works, and is presented as the libera­tion from a vicious God. The movie industry has been mobilized to support this antichristian propa­ganda. Let us give a tangible example of a recent film that graphically depicts the religious beliefs of this movement and the secret intentions of its lead­ers. It is the movie “11-11-11”.

The main idea is that in 11-11-2011 a portal opens, that allows demons to enter this world. It is their last chance to kill Samuel, a priest whose ambition is to restore the real message of religion, which he finds to be flawed. Samuel has a brother, Joseph, who eventually sacrifices himself to save him, and as mentioned in the movie, from this sac­rifice “the serpent will rise and the end will come”. This could be an imitation of the Christian motif in which Jesus was sacrificed for the salvation of man. To further this, it is mentioned in the movie that Samuel’s mother conceived him immaculately. In fact, Samuel is no less of a demon than those who attempt to kill him. Towards the end of the movie, when asked by his brother who he really is, he transforms into a satanic figure and confesses “I am the end”. It is most indicative that a demon who attempts to stab Samuel has a crown of thorns on his head. The message is indirect, yet clear: Jesus Christ is the obstacle in the emergence of the new religion, and of course of the truth. Furthermore, according to the plot of the movie, Joseph’s wife, Sarah, and his son, David, were killed in a fire that burned down their house. Let us just recall who are the spouse and son of Joseph in the New Testa­ment. It is a subconscious message that cunningly introduces people to a new plan. Some wish to see Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary “dead”.

Throughout the movie, the viewer is presented with two choices: either atheism or the coming pan-religion, which, as it gains more and more fol­lowers, will eventually devour Christianity. The atheist writer resolves his inner struggle by aban­doning the insecurity of disbelief and is looking for­ward to the “salvation” offered by his brother’s new founded religion, as promised in the last scene. It is noteworthy that according to the director the last scene had been pre-ordered by the producers. Fi­nally, the film can be found for free on the internet. How come the producers care more about getting the message across to as many people as possible than their profits? It makes one wonder.

In all likelihood, the Age of Aquarius will reveal a forerunner of the Antichrist, who will prepare mankind to be subdued to the representative of the devil in flesh. The devil cannot know when the Sec­ond Coming will happen, but only that his end is near. Hence, he is trying, in the time he has left, to cause as much evil as possible. He is sowing seeds of evil in a number of candidates, without know­ing who will eventually become the vessel that will accept so much demonic energy, so as to bring his work into completion. Only God knows this. This is why many possible “antichrists” have appeared in public during the last decades, something that has brought confusion in the collective mind of man­kind.

Furthermore, globalization pretends to be toler­ant to diversity. Within the framework of the ideol­ogy that every person can be god, humility is lost, as well as the communion with the divinity. Thus, subjugation to one’s passions is established as a rule, under the pretext that it fosters individuality. In fact, this implicitly urges people to enact the law of the new age, as expressed by Aleister Crowley, one of the most notorious satanists of the previous century: “Do what thou wilt, shall be the whole of the law”. In other words, let us forget about the saving commandments of Christ, let us replace them with an individualistic philosophy, accord­ing to which every person lives by his personal code of ethics, designed in a way that perfectly fits his egoism. This particular philosophy also forms the backbone of the theoretical system of certain schools of psychotherapy which were founded and established in the twentieth century.

If we examine things objectively, we will find ourselves in front of a masterfully hidden disgust, hatred and deep intention to dissolute the Chris­tian truth. A number of world leaders, who act as defenders of the new age, constantly repeat the need for a world government under the flag of unity, which will cultivate mutual understanding and respect between people, thus transcending ex­ternal or internal frontiers. This is just the bait for those who lack critical thinking. As soon as they undermine the values that enable true commun­ion between people -the communion of love- and confine every person within the castle of his own individualism (hence causing despair and insecuri­ty), people, being consumed by the instinct of self-preservation, will themselves seek to be mashed in the blender of globalization.

The architects of this apparently innocent sys­tem of global governance have been working on it ceaselessly for hundreds of years, not with the au­dacity of an opportunist robber, or the arrogance of the powerful, but with the inhumanity of a ruth­less criminal, whose methods resemble those of the mafia. The technique they use in order to achieve the psychological collapse of societies is well estab­lished and based on fear. When one is possessed by fear, his behavior becomes chaotic; to escape this, he tries to hold on to the first thing that makes him feel secure. The rulers of this world operate on this inherent psychological mechanism, by orchestrat­ing catastrophic events. Why wait for a problem to come up, if they can save time by creating it them­selves? Needless to mention, that they are not in­terested in resolving the already existing problems, since they contribute to an overall situation of social deterioration. If people show discontent or question their policies, they arm the psychological arsenal of the media -which they utterly control- to remove people’s critical thinking.

By causing limited or extensive catastrophes, at any cost, the leaders of globalization achieve the immediate shift of public opinion in their favour, so that people condescend to their plans. Even though these events are designed with sheer secre­cy, those who are responsible for them always sign their works with symbols that most people ignore. Let us mention in brief the symbolic patterns on the American one dollar bill, which are reproduced in monumental constructions, such as the stadium of the Olympic Games in 2012 and relevant logos that sketch the word “ZION”. Events that happen on dates that are connected are also included, such as the staged terrorist acts of September 11th with the controlled demolition of the towers that func­tioned as a pretext for the United States to launch a series of destructive wars, to pass constitutional changes that indirectly dissolute the democratic rights of the citizens and to create a state of terror worldwide. Exactly ten years earlier, on September 11th 1991, the president of the United States made a public announcement for the need of a new world order. Those who are eager to conduct research, will soon discover plenty of relevant information.

Behind the mask of the good shepherd lies some­thing so sinister and inconceivable to the mind of the layman. The power of a group with covert op­erations will be used to weave the constitutional, legal, technological and financial web that will capture the whole of humanity. Modern technol­ogy enables the surveillance of people from the moment they wake up throughout the day, for ex­ample through the use of credit cards, cameras, cell phones, satellites, electronic IDs, electronic chips and a number of other devices of which we may be unaware. Using these methods, detailed files could be composed on every person on the planet, which a world tyrant could have at his disposal.

Evil has unleashed an unprecedented attack not only on Christ but on humans as well. If we take ourselves for people of faith and altruism, how could we step aside and remain passive? And if we decide to confront evil, how could we achieve it but with the power of Christ? And Christ does not demand from us superficial acceptance of his word. He wants us to transcend ourselves. He does not ask for employees. He asks for friends who are free. He does not negotiate, He asks for unconditional obedience to His will. He does not seek a place in our souls, but the whole of our soul. He does not ask from us to use maneuvers so that we satisfy both people and God. He wants us to be unyield­ing, when people become obstacles to our dedication to Him. God gave us everything; this is why He demands everything. The point is not what we receive, but what we are willing to give.

Our times press us to dialect with our conscience. Amongst the believers, one finds both those who try to use God as guarantee for the realization of their ambitions, as well as those who are willing even to give their life for God. Jesus Christ and His Apostles have warned us of the coming of the Antichrist, they have informed us of the signs that will precede it, they have told us about the devil’s intent to deceive us, and they have reassured us that the real life and the resurrection come through the denial of ourselves for the sake of Jesus and the Gospel. Indeed, do we consider these things as a burden, do they frighten us, discomfort us from the convenience of our lives or distance us from our dream of well-being?

Maybe we fail to realize the uniqueness of the historical period we are in. Our times are reflected in the descriptions of the Apocalypse. This makes a number of people wonder with insecurity “why should we be the ones to lift the burden of the coming of the Antichrist? Why can’t we live a quiet life?” Genuine Christian conscience, however, ac­knowledges that all events in life occur because God allows them to be so. And He does, because He knows how to turn evil into good, thus giving us the chance to forge ourselves through trial, pa­tience, freedom, spirit of martyrdom and cultiva­tion of love. Divine wisdom and love is included in everything in life, yet it escapes us how this is happening. Who dares say he knows better than God?

Elder Paisios was trying to tell us this exact thing, that the coming of the times of the Apocalypse are visible on the horizon of our times. We can fool ourselves and expect to walk with security the road most travelled; to organize our life as if nothing is happening, ensure our comfort and enjoyment, our job, our house, our family, our friends, public recognition, in other words everything that is part of conventional social life. Amidst the current cri­sis, all this seems more and more unfeasible. This is some kind of divine providence, so that we detach ourselves from material things and turn to those that are of most importance in life. Where your treasure is, there will be your heart, too, says the Lord (Matt. 6:21). Indeed, what is it that each of us considers to be his treasure? Maybe it is high time we examined our priorities.

Besides, Jesus is very clear: “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it”. (Mark 8:35) Jesus did not come to bind us with the things of this world, he came to rip from our heart our dependence on this world. It is bet­ter for someone to cut off his arm or remove his eye, if they are obstacles for the salvation of his soul (Mark 9:43-47).

In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. And elder Paisios used to tell the truth. The truth he witnessed and experienced with his acute spiritual senses. We may choose to be in­different to the events around us and wait passively to be integrated into a system that serves globaliza­tion, or, each of us could set off his own revolution through a confession to the truth of Christ, not so much externally, but with actual spiritual struggle. The truth of Christ is the power that overthrows any anti-god power. By transforming ourselves in­ternally, at the same time we also change the world, because each person is part of the world. Neverthe­less, it is not we who will win the battle against the devil, but He who has already done it and has the power to restore the whole of creation in the divine glory. We do not acknowledge the new age. We ac­knowledge the “new creation”, which is Christ him­self. Let us be simple and humble, so that we are enlightened by His uncreated Grace and become transformed into “sons of light and day”.

On a recent weekend, I had the most amazing getaway with my husband! We had not been away alone, without kids, in about 8 years! As soon as I found out we had a sitter for two whole nights, I started planning our trip. I was unbelievably excited, and I wanted it to be super romantic! After much searching around I decided to book a room at a little inn we went to 10 years ago where I first fell in love with my husband. It is a tiny town where a gorgeous river meets the Pacific Ocean. There are other little towns near by, and so I knew that we would have lots of adventures while we were there.

We got to the room late the first night, almost 9 o’clock, because we stopped to have dinner before checking in. We found a cozy restaurant with views of the river and the ocean, where we watched the sun set. It was a marvelous beginning to a romantic weekend! The room was actually a whole house with two stories. We resided mostly on the bottom floor, where there was a bathroom, kitchen, living room and bedroom. Not to mention a private deck with hot tub. The house was very old, probably about 100 years or more, and didn’t look like it received a lot of upkeep. We were excited nonetheless, because hey, we were alone!! You really can’t beat that, no matter how dirty an old house is.

It is funny because the house was kind of eerie. And when I say funny, I mean if you would have asked me a couple of years ago (before I was Christian) I would have told you that the house seemed haunted. There was just something about that old house that really creeped me out. Not to mention the Buddha statue in the back yard. The next morning we went to the inn’s restaurant for breakfast. I noticed right away an altar in the corner of the room, complete with a large Buddha statue, crystals, and other such things. It reminded me quite a bit of the alter I had back when I was a witch. There was a sign attached about wanting to spread good vibes because there is enough negative in the world already.

My inner alarm was going off by this point. I knew that being near the ocean there was a chance that we would run into a New Age mindset, but I thought this sleepy little town would not be affected. Oh how wrong I was. This was only the beginning of the New Age movement I would see on our trip. We visited several stores, shops, and boutiques in the surrounding towns, and every single one of them was filled with charms, idols, crystals and other New Age items.

What exactly is the New Age Movement? New Age is a mix of different spiritual and religious practices that each person chooses to adopt for their belief system. It includes things such as witch craft and the occult, shamanism, mysticism, Hinduism, Buddhism, yoga and much more. It is a way to identify who you are spiritually, and to find higher ways of consciousness and thinking, or enlightenment. It’s main purpose is to help a person to connect with their inner being, and with the universe around them. New Age promotes oneness with the universe and the earth, because they are sacred and living beings in which we are connected to, and come from. The New Age movement teaches that everyone is basically good and a part of god. God can be one or many gods, but always an impersonal force that manifests in many ways, such as nature. New Age also teaches that evil does not exist, especially Satan and hell.

I know this all very well, because I spent a good part of my adult life heavily involved with the occult and New Age. I had no idea that I was even involved in New Age though. It started with my interest in the occult (okay interest is not really the right word. I was a practicing witch.) I became very interested in Eastern Religions and everything about them. I studied Buddhism and Hinduism as I tried to understand higher levels of consciousness and loosing myself to be more god-like. I can’t say I really knew what I was doing, but I really wanted to be connected to the higher power I knew I was a part of. It just wasn’t the Christian God. I tried meditating and placing crystals and gem stones on my chakras and opening my third eye. I tried yoga, astrology, tarot cards and reading the I Ching. I did this alongside of my normal practices of casting spells and performing rituals as a witch.

They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

When I stopped actively practicing witch craft I still had my New Age thoughts and practices to lean on. I was ever searching for the Truth of what the meaning of life was, and why I was here. I wanted desperately to connect with whatever higher power there was out there. I worshiped the earth and practiced being a good person and taught my kids about being good people. It was so very important to me to be ‘good’ and do rack up good karma points. I wasn’t sure what was waiting for me after death – possibly reincarnation, but probably just my spirit being released back into the energy I came from.

All of this might sound a little out there to some people, but to others a lot of this (or maybe even a little) is going to resonate as truth for you. You have been searching, and you may even already be a Christian. You have never made a deeper connection with God or maybe were not sure if you really believed that Jesus is God. You have been hurt and alone for so long, that you want to find that deeper connection. And very possibly you had no idea that you had been lured in to the New Age Movement. The New Age is very seductive in its ways. It comes to you wrapped in sweet-smelling incense, the health consciousness of yoga, and the beauty of connecting with your higher self or nature. It is so very appealing! Yet I am here to warn you on how dangerous the New Age Movement is.

Once I became a Christian I spent the first few months coming to understand who God the Father is, and what Jesus had done for me. I received the Holy Spirit and He began to do a great work in me, to help me understand the will of God. So I easily got rid of many of my New Age items. It was a process, because it took me a year to realize that the yoga I had been doing was also part of the Eastern Religions and was actually a form of worshiping other gods and inviting the demonic in. I easily got rid of the more obvious items, such as Buddha statues, books on witch craft, and tarot cards.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

It has been two and a half years as I write this that I have come to a glorious relationship with Christ Jesus. He has taken all of the New Age and occult beliefs I instilled in my heart for so long, and redeemed me and filled me with the Truth I so desperately had been searching for! I can’t tell you what comfort I have in the knowledge that I was created for a purpose! By a loving God who knows me by name and loves me deeply enough to die for me. And to know I was created, not evolved from monkeys are some sea sludge (yes I seriously believed that too). Thanks to the gift of the Holy Spirit in my life, I have been giving great discernment and understanding of the workings of the spiritual realm. Satan meant to destroy me with his New Age deceit, but God has turned it around for my good, by giving me this gifts. I now can see how the enemy has tried to harm me and many others in this world by propagating the New Age lies. The New Age Movement brings death and deception, unlike the Truth that Jesus died to save us from death and hell. What glorious freedom we have in Christ Jesus!

So back to my vacation. In times past I would have been very charmed by the shops with the Hindu gods on the walls, and the incense burning, and the Indian music playing sweetly in the background. I would have felt peaceful and enchanted. Now I felt repulsed for the first time by these things. I could feel the demonic presence emanating from these occult and New Age trinkets and other cursed objects. It only took two steps into a building to register the evil that had been welcomed into each place. At first I was repulsed and afraid. I know how to deal with the demonic and walk in the power and authority Jesus has given me, but it was surprising and overwhelming. But eventually I just felt sad and angry. The New Age Movement has brought death to so many people, while they unwittingly fall prey to its beautifully packaged lies.

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth.He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.

Thank you Holy Spirit that you live in each one of us, and lead us in all Truth and wisdom. There are certain words in the Church that have often inflicted fear and uncertainty for years — words like psychics, new age, and horoscopes. But should believers be scared of these evil schemes? Should we run from the things we don’t understand and hide from the deception of the evil realm? The challenge is that much of the Western Church does not discuss the reality of the spiritual realm, but rather soothes the uncertainty with greater intellectual intelligence and furthers spiritual incompetence. They make us uncertain of what to do and confuse us with how much power they actually hold. Fear is not our destiny nor the solution to the problem.

I understand the fear that can surround the tactics of the new age movement and divination — the deception can be crippling and the disillusionment convincing. Maybe you have fought a spiritual battle that has been riddled with lies of the enemy and tied to demonic power. But, the truth is, the devil is not a creator, at best he’s a duplicator and the power of God is far more powerful than any plan of the enemy.

Even before I was a believer the spirit realm was apparent to me. When I was a freshman in high school I had an encounter with a fortune teller. One day at school we had a substitute teacher in history class. Instead of teaching history, this substitute decided to read the palms of all the students in the room. I was young and did not understand the significance of what was released through the practice of divination (modern-day witchcraft), so I stood in line to get my palm read with the rest of my fellow students. When it was my turn, the teacher looked at my palm, sighed deeply and refused to read it.

I left the class distraught. My head was spinning. All I could do was think, “Why wouldn’t she read my palm?” At the end of the day, I went back and begged her to read my palm. She reluctantly grabbed my hand and began to tell me what she saw in the lines and wrinkles on my palm. “Your lifeline ends early. That means you will die very young,” she said in a timid voice.

The sheer reality of the spirit realm and utter disturbance that plagued my soul could no longer be denied as I crashed into a nervous breakdown the year after I got married. The extreme terror and irrational fear that filled my life from that experience was crippling and I had not met a Christian at this point in my journey that had words for what I was experiencing — not a psychotic episode, but a demonic seed that had taken root in my life and germinated in my soul for years. At that time I didn’t know that when God speaks, he speaks to edify, exhort, or comfort. Though there was power behind my experience with the spirit realm back in my freshman year of high school, it was only mimicking real power and was not actually the Lord speaking. There are often supernatural acts performed by new-age people that are identical to God’s, but the source is still bent in deception because the thief is lurking with evil intent in the background.

It is apparent the world is searching for spiritual understanding and seeking supernatural significance. Even believers are haunted by the sense that there is more but don’t know how to break through, or worse yet, have allowed fear surrounding deceptive spiritual experiences to limit the life that Christ paid for on the Cross. Jesus did not die on the cross just to forgive your sins, but to give you access to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit changed everything; in an instant, we went from sinners to saints, Spiritless to Spirit-filled, from strangers to friends. We are supposed to be led by the Spirit — John 3 says: “I tell you no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and of Spirit.” What I am getting at is we were born by the Spirit, but often the only thing we’re feeding is our intellect. Reducing the gospel to something we can wrap our heads around; this is not the fullness of the Gospel. Ephesians 3:20 says: “God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we can ask or think ”.

Let me be clear, the Bible is our roadmap, it is Truth and vital to our lives. But we were not given scriptures to have a relationship with the Bible, but to have a relationship with the author through the power of the Holy Spirit. So how do we grow in our spiritual intelligence and hear the voice of God in our lives? I can’t even begin to count the times I’ve been asked, “Why can’t I hear God’s voice?”
First and foremost, you have to have faith that the Lord wants to speak to you and believe that you can hear His voice. The word says “my sheep hear my voice” (John 10:27). However, if we only have faith that the Lord will speak to us in an audible voice or through the scriptures we might miss the countless other ways the Lord is communicating with us. Do you have faith you will hear Him in your heart or in your mind? Now, let me be clear, we all have seasons in which it feels like the Lord is silent, but the truth is the Lord does not punish us with the silent treatment. Rather, He is often crafting His finest work in our lives. In Genesis 1, God speaks all His work into existence, but I want to point out His finest creation Adam and Eve were crafted without words. I want to encourage you, if you feel like you haven’t been able to hear God’s voice for a while, to go back to the last thing He told you. Sometimes, we move on hoping He will move forward with us, but we actually never completed what He asked us to do.

I also want to encourage you, if you have been in a spiritual battle or maybe are aware of lies and divination that have been exposed in your life, to speak the truth of God over yourself. We can be so consumed with fear of the evil schemes of the enemy that we freeze in response or run away in fear of any spiritual encounter. But, we are triune beings; body, soul, and spirit and we need to care for each part of our being including our spirit. If you have been filled with fear around the new age movement, terrified of an attack of the enemy, or battling irrational fears I want to encourage you to soak in the truth that has been spoken over your life. Pull out your prophetic words and link them to faith or write out three declarations about the good plans God has for your life and repeat them out loud throughout your day. When I realized the evil that had been spoken over my life through my encounter with the fortune teller, I broke it off in an instant. If you or someone you know have also had an encounter with divination I encourage you to do the same. Call up the person and lead them into freedom. Remember, the battle has already been won. Freedom is available — simply speak the blood of Jesus over your life or your loved one and cancel the schemes of the enemy because no weapon formed against you shall prosper!
