We live as if time is limitless, postponing dreams, delaying conversations, assuming there will always be another opportunity. Yet, as Jack Kornfield reminds us, the greatest illusion is believing we have time. Life moves swiftly, and each moment lost is one we never reclaim.

Buddhism teaches that impermanence is not a distant philosophy but an undeniable truth. The Buddha encouraged contemplating death, not to bring fear, but to awaken us to the urgency of the present. When we truly understand this, our priorities shift—petty grievances lose importance, and kindness, wisdom, and connection take their rightful place.

Pause for a moment and reflect: What have you been delaying? A heartfelt apology? A personal goal? A deeper spiritual commitment? There is no better time than now. Take the step, say the words, and live with the awareness that every moment is a gift, too precious to waste.
