La etimología de "identidad" proviene del latín identitas, que significa "ser lo mismo" o "permanecer igual". Cuando Dios nos creó a Su imagen y semejanza, nos otorgó identidad, es decir, la capacidad de reflejar Su naturaleza. Sin embargo, el pecado distorsionó esta identidad, convirtiéndonos en pecadores. A través de Cristo Jesús, nuestra identidad es restaurada, y en Dios somos hechos nuevas criaturas.
