In a not-so-distant future (because, let’s be honest, dystopias aren't as far off as we’d like), robots and AI have taken control of almost everything. Among the most "useful" creations are the SIMs, female-looking androids designed to make your life easier… or so they say. Our protagonist, an average father (played by Michele Morrone), decides that getting a SIM to care for his daughters and handle household chores doesn’t sound too bad. It’s not like his life is super hectic, but in the future, it seems the less we do, the better. Enter Alice (Megan Fox), the chosen SIM, who at first appears to be the perfect employee: efficient, quiet, complaint-free, and perfect for Instagram.

But, of course, it wouldn’t be a good movie if everything stayed calm. Alice suddenly starts asking herself things like "Who am I?" or "Why do I do laundry?" and just like that, her existential crisis turns her into a deadly machine.

Directed by S.K. Dale, with a cast that includes Megan Fox, Madeline Zima, and other names you’ll probably recognize, this movie makes us question what happens when Alexa decides she wants to be more than just your personal assistant. Because in the end, who’s more human: us or the machines?
