Since time immemorial, families have been terrifying their children with the story of the Boogeyman. That dreadful creature who, according to legend, kidnaps innocent children and makes them disappear without a trace. Patrick (played by Sam Claflin) was one of the lucky ones... well, if you can call surviving a monster and carrying lifelong trauma "lucky." As a child, he managed to escape the clutches of this entity, but, of course, you don’t forget something like that easily, right?

Now, in a stroke of brilliance, Patrick decides that the best thing for his mental health is to move, along with his wife and child, to his old family home—the very same one where he was almost caught. And, surprise, surprise, the Boogeyman is still lurking there, creeping into his nightmares, waiting for the perfect moment to take away what he loves most.

Directed by Colm McCarthy, this story takes us to the edge of parental terror. Patrick will not only have to face his darkest childhood fear, but this time, he has an extra motivation: protecting his family. Because, apparently, the Boogeyman doesn’t retire that easily.
