Boy, 12, Fires Gun Inside Gas Station During Robbery

A 12-year-old boy allegedly robbed a gas station in Hartford, Michigan, using his grandfather's 9mm handgun. Surveillance footage shows the boy waiting in line before drawing the firearm from a black bag and pointing it at the clerk. When the clerk questioned his seriousness, the boy fired a warning shot into the ceiling. The clerk then handed over a bag of money, and the boy fled the scene.

Police apprehended the boy minutes later behind nearby buildings. He had reportedly discussed with classmates which gas station would be the least secure. The firearm belonged to his grandfather, who was unaware the boy could access the safe where it was stored. The boy has been charged with six felonies, including armed robbery, discharge of a firearm, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
