Turki Alashikh Teams Up with Dana White: Forms New TKO Boxing League in Partnership with WWE

In a recent interview with Steven A. Smith, Dana White discussed how he plans to run the new TKO Boxing promotion, which was announced Wednesday in partnership with Turki Alalshikh and WWE President Nick Khan.

He spoke about how he plans to make the fights run faster and make great fights. People don't want to wait hours in between fights just to see a match. We see this a lot in boxing with Top Rank, Golden Boy, Matchroom, Queensbury, & the PBC.

The Riyadh Season card featuring Artur Betebiev & Dmitry Bivol was fast. As soon as a fight was finished, 2 more fighters were walking to the ring to start their matches.

In a separate interview with Pat McAfee, Turki Alalshikh and Dana White explained their joint venture. The plan is to consistently put on the best fights. They also want to get rid of a bunch of titles in the sport.

Fans are often confused when they see 5 & 6 champions in each division. Will this new league work? I have no idea. The plan is to give exposure to the young talent in boxing and build them from the ground up.

Rumor has it that the first event will feature Canelo vs Terence Crawford in September. There hasn't been an official announcement as of yet. Dana White and other boxing promoters have confirmed that most of the big fights we've been getting are because of Turki Alalshikh.

Turki Alalshikh revealed he has the backing of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and they have an unlimited supply of money. Turki said he cannot do anything without the blessing of the Crown Prince.

As you know, Saudi Arabia and the United States have a strong partnership.
Some boxing fans don't like this idea. Some boxing fans don't like Dana White, or Turki Alalshikh.

Either way it goes there's a new day in boxing & combat sports. When you're playing with the type of money these guys are playing with, things get done. Turki Alalshikh, the Crown Prince, Dana White, & the President of WWE care nothing about your feelings.
