The Feast of the Holy Face of Jesus

The marred face of Jesus, marred by his passion, reveals the paradoxical and profound divinity of God. Looking upon his face, even in disfigurement, is the only means of salvation, as it reveals God’s love. Faith allows us to see beyond the surface and recognize Jesus’s divine essence.

The cross of Jesus Christ is the only means of salvation, drawing people to him for eternal union. Looking at Jesus’s face, especially on the cross, reveals his love and vulnerability, encouraging us to reciprocate it. This union with Jesus, achieved through looking at his face, transcends human limitations and is the ultimate goal of salvation.
