Civil lawsuit involving Boys and Girls Club of Kern County settles for nearly $1 million

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - A settlement has been reached in a civil lawsuit filed against the Boys and Girls Club of Kern County regarding allegations of sexual assault. The club agreed to pay $975,000 to the family of a 6-year-old boy who claims the boy was sexually assaulted by another club member inside one of the club's bathrooms in 2016. The attorney representing the Boys and Girls club of Kern County sent a statement saying in part, "At the time of the alleged incident, all policies and procedures were followed by the staff.
