Their book, ‘The Fourth Turning: What the Cycles of History Tell Us About America’s Next Rendezvous With Destiny’, published in the year 1997, factors in the recurring cycles of history, which go through an 80- to 100-year cycle of four turnings, the fourth of which is a crisis phase of an unraveling of civic order and secular upheaval.

According to Strauss and Howe’s carefully calculated prediction, starting in the year 2025, America will enter into a new golden age, experience the empowerment of a strong new political regime, a new values consensus, a renaissance of civic trust, and become a society that is good, one that works, and that triumphantly applies shared values to improve the human condition.
