Session 22: Lent Conclusion & Eucharist Intro

We conclude our discussion on Lent with looking at the Gospel reading for 1st Sunday of Lent. How Jesus in the desert recapitulates the temptations in Genesis with Jesus giving us the example of how to fight temptation. We looked at the threefold concupiscence as noted in 1 Jn 2:16; the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the price of life. Noting how the Gospel reading for Ash Wed, instructs us how to combat those inordinate passions, "when you fast, when you give alms & when you pray". This is really a receipt for the Christian life, to carry our Cross and follow Jesus. Then we started our next Sacrament; The Eucharist! See you next week, God Love you.
