Steve Anderson Returns To Competition

After a 10 year hiatus from competition, I have begun to compete in Steel Challenge. This was my second match in 10 years.

Because of my travel schedule, I have had ZERO live fire training for Steel Challenge.

I have been Dry Firing Steel Challenge banners for about 2 weeks, and using my Mental Management process to ensure access to my substantial reservoir of subconscious skill. I have also hired Kita Busse from 180firearmstraining.com as a Vision and Training Coach because I am convinced in her ability to help me see faster and train more effectively.

I shot my Walther PDP SF Match in centerfire, and my ancient Beretta 87T in rimfire because Walther doesn't have a suitable .22LR at this time. I have not trained in rimfire at all, and the Beretta got a quick function check right before the match.

I finished in 2nd place at 97% of an M class shooter in Centerfire, and 4th place rimfire after extensive ammo problems which have already been addressed, because having reliable equipment is my responsibility as a competitor.

My Mental Management Process gave me great consistency, and revisiting my Mental Management journal before and during the match allowed my Self Image to expect great performance without worrying about the results.
