Boo Flippin' Hoo: Federal Employee's Wife OUTRAGED Her Hubby Has To Actually SHOW UP To Work

Posted • March 3, 2025: Long, long ago (in a galaxy not too far away), when I was working in communications and marketing for a rather large retailer who shall remain nameless, we went through a round of layoffs when another rather LARGE retailer came in and bought the company. They gathered us all together in the gymnasium (yes, this company had a truly amazing campus) and explained that we had been sold to this not only large but super famous retailer, and there would be layoffs. Here's the best part: they told us to go back to our desks and wait for our phones to ring. If it rang, we were being let go. Sort of like the world's cruelest gameshow where the winners were losers. It sucked. At this time, I was newly pregnant with our first child … oh, and did I mention my husband and I both worked there? Yeah. It was not great. It was terrifying. Ultimately, I was saved by another department, and my husband's job was fine.

Looking back, I don't remember the media making a big deal about us lowly workers in the private industry losing our jobs. I guess they only really care about the entitled federal employees who are still throwing a fit over returning to the office. Like this woman whose husband is a federal employee. Federal employee's wife is outraged that her husband has to show up to work to get paid. Oh no. He has to get up early and go to work. So do millions and millions of other Americans every day. Sorry but cry ME a river. Welcome to the real world of every single working American in the private sector you unbelievable lazy, coddled, participation trophy generation wusses. I go to work in an office, and it also makes my kids sad sometimes. Want to take care of your kids? Well, you probably have to work. Such is life. Wow, DC federal employees literally thought they were entitled to making $250k to stay at home and do nothing but hang out with their kids. Which would be awesome but not sustainable. And how DARE we peons who pay their salaries expect THEM to go into the office?! For shame. Welcome to reality, toots.
