Star Wars For Sale? New Rumor Suggests Disney Trying to DUMP Lucasfilm

The news of Kathleen Kennedy's impending departure is still being disputed by the access media, even after a very complimentary interview where the Lucasfilm Boss all but confirmed the reports were true in as many words. Puck News' Matt Belloni claims Kennedy is stepping aside by the end of the year and Kathy said she anticipates making an announcement in a few months to a year. What's the difference?

But the worst executive in the history of Hollywood might not be the only thing leaving the House of Mouse on an expedited timeline. Chris Gore of Film Threat has a source claiming Disney is shopping Star Wars and/or Lucasfilm and gauging the interest in the damaged brand. Considering they shelled out $4 Billion for the entire package in 2012 and have yet to turn a profit on the investment, it's likely but simultaneously highly unlikely for a company like Disney and an executive like Bob Iger to make such a bold admission of defeat.

If you have hope for better Star Wars with Kathleen Kennedy out the door, hope beyond hope the rumor of Disney selling Lucasfilm is true. That's the only way this cultural rot can be fixed!
