Honest Response to Posts About New Age Practices in the Church – For the Haters and Others

This video is a response to a post I made the other day—one that many love, but some truly hate.

The post:

“I want to say that I am charismatic all the way. I believe in the gifts of the Spirit, including speaking in tongues. However, I don’t believe in manifestations such as being drunk in the Spirit and holy laughter as they are practiced in many charismatic churches. I also don’t support practices like grave soaking, nor do I believe in visiting the third heaven or other New Age practices.

Because of this, I don’t consider myself part of the charismatic movement, even though I am charismatic and love many people from that movement. I relate to them more than to other movements in some areas, but in others, not at all—far from it.”

With this, I want to remind you all that you can believe in the gifts of the Spirit, including speaking in tongues and all the charismatic gifts, without embracing the New Age and unbiblical practices we see in many churches today. Let us not reject what is good because of the abuse or wrong we see all around us today.

Let's talk, learn, and not throw the baby out with the bathwater, while also being cautious not to receive a false spirit.
