This new combined camping lamp and power bank from WARSUN is simple but versatile with a good long running time coupled with an unusual design and multiple features.
In the box, you get the lamp, USB charging cable and a simple but not really necessary user guide. The build quality of the ABS bodied lamp is lightweight but it is IP5 water resistant and seems well made and built to last.
The 8.3 x 3 x 8.3Hcm, 17209lo7g lamp has a 30 LED light array on the front and on the back a line of eight tiny status LEDs and what looks like a small solar panel, next to it, but the pane is not mentioned in the product guide or website and so I Guess it must be decorative only. On one side is a grommet protected bay for the charging and output ports and control buttons for the power/light output and colour temperature, on the other a standard tripod mount. Along the edge is a pull out combined hanging hook, stand and grip, you have to pull this quite hard to engage the four click stop positions.
The 1000 lumens lamp is rechargeable with a single charge of the 6000 mAh battery using the USB-C port giving up to 48 hours of light depending on the lighting mode used. The lamp can also be used as an emergency power bank by connecting your phone or other rechargeable device to the USB-A port. A fully charged battery should allow you to charge a mid range phone or top up a power hungry high end device. Power bank charging speeds are not fast but it will get the job done in the end. The top four LEDs on the rear of the unit shows the charging and battery status.
The light is IP45 waterproof, can be safely used outside and should be fine in normal levels of rain but in the event of a downpour bring it inside to be on the safe side. Using the hanging hook it should be fine for inside tent use with the combined handle and grip making it good for outside operation.
Operating the lamp is nice and simple. Press the large of the two buttons to switch on and scroll through the three light output levels, press the smaller button next to it to select the light mode with four options from cool white to warm. The lower LED row on the rear of the unit indicates the light mode selected.
The only problem I have is with the button placement. The buttons are hard to tell apart in the dark and it is easy to press both together
Priced at just £25.99 before discounts, this is not the cheapest lamp of this type out there, but the good build quality, stylish and modern design plus the precise light control makes this a pretty good buy for home and camping use.
