The Goal Post Episode 54 - Technical Difficulties Attack

A little after the 16min mark we ran into a technical difficulty (our first?) and Rob's DSL screwed up and kicked him off Zoom. There was also a part in the latter part of the video where there were audio issues between us so we had to cut to the part where everything was stable again. Both incidents have been edited to keep things seamless.

We talk about Viktor Orbán announcing Hungary's "largest tax reduction plan in Europe" which is a diametrically one-sided exemption for mothers with 2 and 3 children. The implications and incentivization for single motherhood should be obvious but tradcons and even Elon Musk appear to think this is a good idea. Because apparently fathers don't matter. We criticize the "have more children" mentality as a false solution to population decline, and then talk some about cultural, state and religious attitudes towards having children.

We talk about how Skype will be gone in May this year, with Microsoft apparently pushing Teams instead. Many in the men's issues sphere uses Skype so this is worth planning ahead for.

We speak about the fall of the Roman Empire and how it's not exactly how it seemed and Rob offers thoughts on what all happened. We speak of Roman emperor Diocletian as the first entry in a segment for the Goal Post about great men of history.

We talk a bit about AI and to what extent we will struggle to tell what's real or AI-generated as well as some problems it can pose for music artists, and then Vernon talks about his recent haul from an antique shop, and Rob shows off his souvenir from Japan.
