Rivers overflow in Peru after intense rainfall

Intense rains have caused floods in northern Peru, forcing residents to evacuate their homes. Residents of the northern region of Tumbes saw the namesake river double its normal flow on March 1, according to the National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology, which issued a red alert in the whole region.
