There's a wonderful lesson here.

Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.

What Pema Chodron here is reminding us is that the difficulties we face are opportunities.

They're opportunities for seeing clearly where we get stuck, where we are held back, where we feel trapped, and where we are lost in certain patterns, but they're all things that we can deal with if we face them with honesty and with kindness towards ourselves.

Wisdom is starting to see that everything is in a process of change and that where we seem to be stuck, perhaps we're not really stuck after all.

It takes the courage to acknowledge the places where we're stuck, and then the fearlessness to address them directly with honesty, and with compassion.
