Why Did a Tech Company Air a Commercial Promoting Killer Drone Swarms. Let's talk about it.

So the punchline of the ad is that "Battles are won before they begin." Now I know how this sounds. Terrifying. But the company behind this ad doesn't actually sell weapons. They actually sell really "boring" software. So "boring", that pretty much everyone on the internet misunderstands it.

This is Palantir.

People call them a bunch of names. Sometimes spyware company, sometimes data miner, and sometimes an arms dealer.

And to be fair Palantir's ads kinda lean into those personalities. But they are a B2B SaaS. Their software basically helps someone manage, analyse, and use their data. So depending on who you are, you could figure out the optimal way to manage a hospital waitlist, or deploy drones. Possible with Excel too, it would just be really inefficient.
