1 John 3:11-1811For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. 12Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. 13Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. 14We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. 15Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.
16This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
Who Is My Brother?
Luke 10:36-37 —“36“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”37The expert in the law replied,“The one who had mercy on him.”Jesus told him,“Go and do likewise.”…my best interpretation of those verses is simple… our neighbor is anyone in need of our love.”
All fellow members of the human race qualify as our brothers since every person has needs.
Am I Responsible for My Brother?
1 John 3:11."This is the message we have heard from the beginning, that we love one another."
The answer is yes!
1 John 3:16"Yes, even to the point of laying down our lives for our brothers.”
What Should I Do for My Brother?

1 John 3:17-18 —17If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth..
People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
James1:27?"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep (yourself) unspotted from the world.”
1 John 3:24says,“The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
Matthew 25:38-40 —38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’40“The King will reply,‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
