The entire time Jack shared an elevator ride with a couple, the girl’s husband was making passive-aggressive comments toward her. Though Jack was angry at his behavior, he kept his distance. But once the man commanded his wife to get out of the lift with a sharp whistle, treating her like a dog, Jack lost his cool. He held the girl’s hand and quickly pressed the button that made the elevator close. She was nervous at first. But it seemed she really wanted to get just a moment of peace away from her nasty spouse.
