Varanasi Police Inspector Suspended for Assaulting Student Inside Station

Varanasi, UP – Inspector Naveen Chaturvedi of Sankatmochan Police Station has been suspended after allegedly assaulting a student inside the police station. According to reports, Chaturvedi beat the student with a stick, pulled him by his hair, and forced him to walk around.

The incident is linked to a confrontation between two student groups last week. In connection with the dispute, police had brought three students to the station for questioning. Following the assault, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) took action, suspending the inspector from duty.
