STOCKTON 3-1-2025 VAGRANT UPDATE: Tents, stolen furniture and a prime location for bird-watching.
It’s concerning to see a vagrant camp spring up next to the bike trail on the Calaveras river and especially in such close proximity to Stagg High School-literally across the street. It's like a real-life lesson in socio-economic disparities right in their own backyard. Maybe they can start a field trip program to learn about homelessness in America. Who needs a textbook when you've got a live demonstration, right? Seriously though, the presence of a piker camp in this area presents safety, health and sanitation concerns for both the individuals living there and the surrounding community. I mean, why pay rent when you can just set up camp next to a river and with some questionable hygiene practices enjoy the scenic views of passing bikers and maybe deal some meth to students, am I right? Like a real-life episode of Survivor but instead of winning a million dollars you get to keep living in a tent. It's also a reminder that sometimes the most picturesque places can hide the grittiest realities. Time for some action folks!
