Impromptu Interview with Stanley Park Tree Cutter
This brief conversation with a B.A. Blackwell employee reveals that the city of Vancouver plans to continue logging in Stanley Park for 1 more month (March) this year, well into the bird nesting season. Spring is already here in Vancouver.
There is no reason to remove dead standing Hemlocks as they provide food and habitat to many animals including pileated woodpeckers. Dead Hemlocks present no risk to the public as they disintegrate in place and provide nutrients for the soil.
Visit the Stanley Park Preservation Society website to learn more about the secret plans to harvest tens of thousands of trees, without public knowledge or input. Show your support by becoming a member (it's free) and feel free to offer a donation to help get information out to the public.
