The memorial service was conducted by Prof. Walter Veith of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the Dutch Reformed Church, Ladismith on Thursday 1st July 2010 at 11:00am.

Psalm 23 van ‘n Kankerlyer
Ek moet onthou dat die Here my Herder is en niks sal my ontbreek nie.
Al lyk dit nou nie so nie, Hy laat my soms neerlê in groen weivelde,
Hy sê Hy lei my na waters waar rus is, ek MOET dit glo.
Where is death’s sting?
Elke keer as nie meer kan nie, dan verkwik Hy my siel;
Dit is moeilik om te verstaan hoe, maar deur die lyding lei Hy my in die spore van geregtigheid, om sy Naam op te lig en te eer.
En al gaan ek nou deur die dal van doodskaduwee, ek kan geen onheil vrees nie.
Ek ly onder u stok, en word weer sterk met U staf, die balans vertroos my.
Al wil ek aan niemand dink, nie mense sien of hoor, U berei nog steeds die tafel voor om my teêstanders welkom te heet, te ondersteun en lief te hê, dit is ‘n wonderlike les;
Ek verstaan dit nie, maar ek voel hoe U my hoof vet maak met olie, en daarom loop my beker oor.
Net blydskap, goedheid en guns sal my volg al die dae van my lewe,
Want ek is Sy kind en Hy is my Pa;
Ek sal dus in die huis van die HERE bly in die lengte van my dae,
As Hy dit so sal hê
