OM Chanting--- Om the Maha mantra. Om is the basic sound of the universe. If chanted symbolically it acknowledges our connection to the universe. Om tunes us in to that sound, the rhythm, and the vibrations while chanting gives us a calming effect on the entire body. If chanted in a base voice it gives a wonderful experience of vibration throughout the entire face and head and gives a relaxing effect on the nervous system.
Om refers to the "Atman" (Soul/self within) Om syllable is found at the beginning and end of the "Vedas" and "Upanishads." Om embodies "Shakti" that is the divine energy. The vibrant mantra Om is considered to have high spiritual and creative power.
Regular chanting of Om helps reduce stress and anxiety, improves concentration, and detoxifies the body. It also improves functioning of heart, digestive and nervous system resulting sound sleep and makes emotionally stable.
Anyone can recite the mantra Om. The proper way of chanting Om is to sit back straight in an ease position, Close your eyes. Take a deep breathe in and then out 3 times. Start slowly chanting Om mantra and feel the vibration of the sound Om. Practice and chant Om regularly with a positive vibrant, it will allow you to feel the whole Universe.
