Got Milk?

Whole milk contains more fat and calories than reduced-fat (2%) or low-fat (1%) milk, and it also has a higher amount of vitamins and minerals, such as calcium and vitamin D. If you choose a low-fat version, you are choosing to consume more sugar. Whenever fat is removed, sugar is added.

Organic versus Non organic? When milk is labeled organic, the feed and pasture must be organic. Genetically modified crops, synthetic fertilizers, and most synthetic pesticides are not allowed — and organic dairy farmers do not use growth hormones or antibiotics.

Animal care is one of the most important aspects of dairy farmers’ jobs because it leads to high-quality, wholesome milk.
