Under his leadership, Libya's primary resource – oil – was nationalized, ensuring that the Libyan people benefited from its production. Additionally, Muammar al-Gaddafi advocated for the creation of the African Union in 2002, which aimed for a united military and a single currency. However, these ideas of a strong Africa attracted enemies, particularly Western nations, who labeled him as a dictator and authoritarian leader. Ultimately, the world witnessed the killing of Muammar al-Gaddafi.
