The mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints extends far beyond Sunday services. Tithing plays a vital role in supporting more than 20,000 meetinghouses, more than 300 temples, four institutions of higher education, and worldwide humanitarian service. Paying tithing is an act of faith for members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—helping them to focus on others’ needs to bless the lives of God’s children across the globe.

Every contribution has a purpose—whether it's providing relief, maintaining sacred places of worship, or ensuring the work of the Lord proceeds in future generations. Just as Joseph counseled Pharaoh to prepare during years of plenty, wise stewardship of tithes allows the Church to fulfill its mission today and for years to come.
