When Entitlement Meets Reality

A police officer observed a vehicle operating northbound on Appleton Ave. at a higher speed than allowed. The officer conducted a traffic stop, and as the windows were rolled down, he could smell an odor believed to be marijuana.
The officer ordered all three occupants to exit the vehicle in order to safely search the vehicle for suspected marijuana.

Other officers arrived on scene. The subjects began obstructing the officers’ efforts to make the scene safe and conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle.
