Kanpur: Woman Confronts Harasser in Market, Video Goes Viral; Police Take Action

Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh – A woman in Kanpur took matters into her own hands after catching a man allegedly harassing women in a local market. Bystanders recorded the incident, and the video quickly went viral on social media.

The incident, which took place in Beconganj on February 25, 2025, shows the woman confronting and beating the accused, identified as Adnan, son of the late Abdul Mabud, a resident under Bajaria police station limits. Following the video's circulation, local police took cognizance of the matter.

According to the accused's family, Adnan is reportedly undergoing treatment for mental health issues. Police have since taken him into custody, and an investigation is underway. Assistant Police Commissioner (Anwarganj) has provided a statement regarding the probe and further legal action.
