Amber Skies

Golden light fades slow and sweet,
Footsteps echo down empty streets.
Memories burn like autumn leaves,
Drifting softly on the evening breeze.

I hear your voice in the amber glow,
Whispers calling me back home.
But time moves on, like the restless tide,
Still, I wish you were by my side.

Under amber skies, we used to dream,
Chasing echoes of what could've been.
Though the night comes fast, and the stars arise,
I still see you in the amber skies.

Fingers traced on windowpanes,
Left behind like summer rain.
Shadows dance where we used to stand,
Holding on to what slipped through our hands.

Maybe one day, in another place,
We’ll meet again in time’s embrace.
Till then, I’ll keep you in my mind,
A golden flame that never dies.

Under amber skies, I say goodbye,
But your shadow lingers in my mind.
Though the night comes fast, and the stars arise,
I still see you in the amber skies.
