‘Tell the truth’: Calls for the Prime Minister to ‘front up’ on issue of China’s live fire drills

Shadow Foreign Affairs Minister David Coleman has called for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to “tell the truth” to the Australian people over China’s live fire drills.

“What the government’s effectively trying to do here is ‘there’s nothing to see here’, and plainly, there is something to see here,” he told Sky News Australia.

“The Prime Minister needs to front up on this issue – I mean, it seems pretty black and white that he’s misled the country.”

Defence Minister Richard Marles has defended the Prime Minister after the Opposition claimed he misled Australians when he said China gave notice before conducting military drills in the Tasman Sea on Friday.
