MSNBC anchor Ayman Mohyeldin and GOP political consultant Shermichael Singleton suggested that President Donald Trump’s and outgoing Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s (R) harsh rhetoric about Democratic attempts to “steal” the razor-thin-margin elections in Florida could lead to political violence.

Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes and the county became engulfed in controversy in the days following Tuesday’s midterm elections when GOP candidates’ comfortable leads over Democratic candidates sank enough, as ballots kept pouring in, to trigger recounts.

Scott and Governor-Elect Ron DeSantis (R) still hold slim margins of victory over incumbent Sen. Bill Nelson (D) and Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum (D), respectively. Scott filed two lawsuits against Broward County and Palm Beach County as the two Democrat-majority counties continued to count an unknown number of ballots past the state-mandated deadline.

Trump took to Twitter Monday to express his outrage over officials’ violations of Florida election laws and their lack of transparency.
