D.C. prosecutor hints at investigation over TikTok video calling for Musk’s assassination.

D.C.’s top prosecutor on Monday appeared to suggest he was launching an investigation after commenting on a social media post from a woman who called for the assassination of Elon Musk.

Interim U.S. Attorney Ed Martin reposted a video on X from popular right-wing account Libs of TikTok, which shared the woman’s video, in which, besides calling for Mr. Musk’s slaying, she admitted to not paying taxes in nearly a decade.

The woman, whose account name is Sarah C. Roberts and her bio says she’s an executive producer in New York City, posted a roughly minute-long video that included the threat on Mr. Musk’s life.

“Elon Musk,” said the woman before she paused to do a throat-slitting gesture.
“We need to ’X’ him. And by ’X’ him I mean, formerly known as assassination,” she continued.

The woman mumbled something right afterward about how the FBI may find and arrest her, and then mentioned the tax evasion.

“You don’t even have enough people to investigate me at this point,” the woman said. “I haven’t filed taxes in, like, eight years — and yet, no one’s come for me.”
The video ended with her repeating her threat: “So, I’m gonna f—— say it. Let’s assassinate some m——f——”

The account linked to Ms. Roberts had been taken down by Monday evening.

Mr. Martin, who represented people charged for their roles in the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021, before taking the top prosecutor job, was tapped by President Trump earlier this month to be the permanent U.S. Attorney in the District.
