Saint Damien of Molokai: THE HERO OF HAWAII!

Streamed on:

St. Damien was a Belgian priest who answered God's call to minister to the lepers of Molokai, Hawaii in the late 19th century. Leaving behind his home and family, St. Damien selflessly devoted himself to caring for those exiled to the isolated leper colony, providing not only medical care, but also spiritual support. He built churches, schools, and homes, offering the love and dignity of Christ to those society had abandoned. Despite contracting leprosy himself and ultimately dying from the disease, St. Damien’s unwavering faith and commitment to the marginalized can teach us a lot about the Catholic Church's mission to serve the poorest and most vulnerable.
