A man was walking up to a home in Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. As he approached the front door and rang the doorbell, home surveillance footage captured two masked men running up behind him. One suspect pointed what appeared to be a handgun at the victim’s face, demanding he hand over everything he had. The victim, seemingly confused and possibly hindered by a language barrier, didn’t immediately comply. Within seconds, the second suspect deployed a taser, striking the man and causing him to cry out in pain and collapse onto the porch.

The attackers continued to subdue the victim with the taser, delivering additional shocks to keep him incapacitated. For about 30 seconds, they rifled through his pockets, stole his wallet, gold necklace, car keys, and iPhone, and even struggled to pull rings off his fingers. At one point, one of the robbers turned the surveillance camera away to avoid being filmed further. After the assault, the suspects fled the scene, leaving the victim on the ground. He was later able to stand and walk away, breathing heavily, though it’s unclear if he sought medical attention.

Seattle Police quickly identified this robbery as part of a broader pattern of crime in South Seattle. Since June 2023, there had been at least 14 reported armed robberies targeting individuals at homes across neighborhoods like Rainier Beach, Beacon Hill, and Columbia City.
