Watch this Belgian Malinois when he realizes he's safe and loved now!

Zulu was used as a prop "guard dog" by drug runners crossing into our country. When they got over the border, they had no more use for him so they left him to die in the 125 degree desert.

But Zulu was a charmer. He wasn't a guard dog at all, he was very sweet. When he saw a border patrol agent in the distance Zulu ran up to him and fell at his knees, hoping for a friend. The agent used a call sign "Zulu" for a radio transmission so he named this angel after the call sign. "Why not?" he thought.

But because of his size and his breed it was nearly impossible for the agent to find a home for Zulu among the already over burdened staff, his relatives, and his friends. So Leo stepped in and arranged for Zulu's transport to the sanctuary.
